Experience
Ben Root has conducted Lean Manufacturing implementation in a wide spectrum of businesses, making use of his background and experience with Toyota Motor Manufacturing and NUMMI. He worked at the Borge Leather Tannery in Bergin, Norway, leading process improvements. He also worked as a Lean Implementation Consultant with EOC industries located in Ludenscheid, Germany. Ben conducted Lean Six Sigma events at Northrop Grumman, Los Angeles and TEC, Atlanta Georgia. He has also holds the position of Director of Lean Manufacturing for Le Chef Bakery in Los Angeles, California.

Major Achievements

•    Instrumental in creating a Quality Circle Program at NUMMI involving over four hundred team members and supervisors
•    Through Lean Training, eliminated raw material inventory and converted a large warehouse facility into production facility at Le Chef Bakery
•    Created a supervisor and management succession program based on lean principles and philosophy

Credentials

Mr. Root received a Masters Degree in Human Resource, Training and Development from Golden Gate University and a B.S. degree in management from Kent State University. As a certified instructor from Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Japan, he held management roles at NUMMI and Toyota Motor Manufacturing, North America.
